Germaine McAuley Chair of Physical Education Director of Athletics Spelman College

Germaine McAuley was appointed to the position of chair of physical education and director of athletics at Spelman College in January 2004.
Prior to her arrival at Spelman College, she served as the associate director of athletics compliance at Delaware State University in Dover, Delaware and Norfolk State University from 1996 to 2003. She has also held the position of head and assistant coach in women’s basketball at several Division I universities from 1980 through 1996.

As the director of athletics for Spelman College, McAuley manages the entire intercollegiate athletics program and is closely involved in the planning, growth and development of the program. Because of her varied background and past responsibilities in athletics, she brings a unique perspective to the position.

McAuley is a member of the National Association for Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA), the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), and the Georgia Athletics Association.
