Kim Allen was named Director of Athletics at New England University and began her duties on February 1, 2006. Prior to this appointment, she served 5 years as the associate director of athletics at Smith College. She came to Smith from Rutgers University-Newark where she served as the associate director of athletics since 1998.

Allen's experience in athletics administration extends from elementary school to Collegiate Athletics, in DI and III, as well as a stint in professional sports as the facilities and operations manager for the McCall's LPGA Championship in Stratton Mountain, Vermont.

She served on the NCAA Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee from 2001-2005, chairing the DIII Committee from 2004-2005.  Currently she is serving on the Executive Committee of the National Association of DIII Athletics Administrators, as an At-Large member. 

A 1985 graduate of Douglass College, Rutgers University, she received her master's degree in Education from Springfield College in 1997.
