Christine Hoyles was named Assistant Commissioner of the Pac-10 on June 2, 1988.  She is responsible for the administration of the Conference's Senior Women Administrators, its Administrative Fellowship program, and serves as the chief administrator for the State Farm Pac-10 Women's Basketball Tournament.

Hoyles came to the Pac-10 from Western Michigan University, where she worked for 15 years.  She started at Western Michigan in 1973 and was appointed Associate Director of Athletics in 1976.  From 1973 to 1978, she taught in the Physical Education Department.  She coached the women's tennis team from 1974 to 1976.

Currently, she represents the Conference as a member of the NCAA Olympic Sports Liaison Committee. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators and the Collegiate Women Sports Awards.  The former chair of the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Committee, Hoyles formerly served as Commissioner of the Midwest and Michigan Associations for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women, and as a member of the NCAA Academic Requirements Committee.

Hoyles earned her undergraduate, master's, and Ph.D. degrees from Michigan State University.  She and her husband Jack Tarasevic have a daughter, Devon.
