Below is a listing and description of each of the association committees that are integral to our association's operation and future success each year.

This committee is OPEN to the membership but only a Board Member may serve as chair.

Administers the association's recognition and national awards program (i.e. Honor Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Administrator of the Year and Nell Jackson Award.)
Solicit nominations from the membership.  Make recommendations to the Board for award nominees and selections.  Research and solicit biographical information for nominees. Continuously monitor criteria for awards and make recommended revision to the NACWAA Board. Good organizational skills, detail oriented. Ability to meet deadlines. Participation and awareness of association members and activities. Interest in the importance of this committee and its role in enhancing the spirit of the association. Members of this committee are not eligible to win an award. Attend committee meetings deemed necessary (approximately 1 hour/month) Project execution and follow up. Attend association activities and functions whenever possible

Reviews on an annual basis the Bylaws/Policy & Procedures of NACWAA and propose amendments.

Review the Bylaws and Policy & Procedures documents on annual basis. Propose amendments as deemed appropriate. Changes to be approved by Board and membership informed for vote 30-60 days before the national convention. Remain sensitive to the needs and expectations of the membership. Question direction of proposals that impact legislative foundations of association. Verify authority of Board action and interpret intent of language in Bylaws.

Must be a member of the NACWAA Board.

Provides guidance and oversight of all financial matters of the association.

Review all association financial documentation quarterly. Develop and review business policies and procedures for the operation of financial system and budget development. Assist the sponsorship committee in research and coordination of alternative sources of revenue.

Understanding of fiscal operations, the opportunities and challenges of association management. Understanding of NACWAA initiatives and financial needs for operation. Availability to assist in annual budget development.

Analyzes, evaluates and disseminates to membership national athletics governance legislation.

Keep membership informed of NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA legislation issues specifically those pertaining to women. Generate/review ideas on existing/proposed NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA legislation. Develop NACWAA position on national athletics governance legislation. Work with coaching associations and other pertinent organizations to share and input information on legislation.

Actively recruit new members and ensure diversity in ethnicity, divisions and affiliations. Ensure prospective new members and guests feel welcome at association events. Provide mentorship and encouragement in committee participation. Establish an orientation program to explain how to make the most out of NACWAA membership.

Develops and manages the association membership retention programs. Creates and overseas programs designed to motivate and reward members for involvement.

Retain current members by encouraging committee participation, determine member needs. Develop a member retention program and collateral. Contact discontinued members to inquire why they have not renewed their membership; make reminders calls to delinquent members.

This is a CLOSED committee as members are elected by the membership.

Provides a slate of officers, Board of Directors and Nominating Committee members within the guidelines outlined in the NACWAA by-laws/policy and procedures for membership vote, which will continue to advance the leadership of the association.

Select slate of officers, nominating committee and board members for submission to the membership based on qualifications and within the time frame dictated by the association by-laws.

Awareness of association leaders to be considered. Committee must consist of 8 members and meet with the approval of the membership Committee meetings of an hour each (frequency determined by chair). Various administrative and communication activities.

Participates in the administration of the association sponsorship program whose goal is to generate the maximum amount of revenue to NACWAA.

Assist in developing sponsorship and advertising opportunities for the association events, initiatives, newsletters, email blasts, annual directory and the association website, www.nacwaa.org

Research and assist in contacting traditional and non-traditional sponsors and advertisers who would benefit from NACWAA exposure. Methods of contacting would include in person, mailings, phone calls, fax and email.
Willingness to give time, energy, talents and enthusiasm to get the job done. Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail. Good communication skills, pleasant, aggressive, telephone manner, and prospecting/selling experience are beneficial. Committee meetings of an hour each (frequency determined by chair). Project execution and follow up. Attendance at association events.

Plans the educational and professional development components for current and future NACWAA events (i.e. NACWAA/HERS, Executive Institute and the national convention.)

When appropriate develop new ideas serving the needs of all segments of the NACWAA membership. Provide information concerning professional development initiatives for Weekly Update and Newsletter. Research and suggests speakers for association events. Coordinate with other committees to ensure promotion of educational events. Enhance existing education and professional development opportunities.

The Fall Forum committee is CLOSED to the membership and only the President may serve as chair.

Responsible for the overall planning of the national convention, Fall Forum.

The local organizing committee is OPEN to the membership in the convention host city/area.

The local organizing committee assists the national office staff in planning of on-site logistical aspects of the national convention.

Establish convention objectives, theme, program activities and agenda for association's national convention.

The local organizing committee assists with the association's national convention including topic development, securing local speakers, sponsors and exhibitors. Obtain sites for local convention events and activities, secure vendors and arrange for donation of services where possible. Provide volunteer assistance on-site at convention.

This committee and chair position is OPEN to the membership.

Assist in development and planning of fundraising events, initiatives and planned giving programs to ensure the financial security and future of the NACWAA Foundation Fund. The association's current largest fund-raiser event, the Awesome Auction, monies raised at this event help fund scholarships and research.

Assist in the planning of the Awesome Auction. Procure donations for auction. Assist with theme and program activities for the auction.

Plan “fun” raising activities for various NACWAA events. Identify potential donors for legacy giving and corporate programs that match NACWAA mission.

Ability to develop a creative, entertaining program. Good organizational skills with the ability to plan and facilitate a multi-faceted social event. Willingness to give time, energy, talents and enthusiasm to get the job done.

Develops a yearly plan including collateral to market the association and its initiatives as outlined by the strategic plan.  Develops promotion plan including collateral for all association events.

Research and identify opportunities, continually evaluate ways to maximize relationships and involvement, educate the membership and assist with coordination an implementation of fund raising and sponsorship efforts. Pro-actively gather information on association events and publicize through current and new communication vehicles.

Manages for the association's legislative activities related to the promotion/elimination of Title IX issues.

Keep membership informed of issues related to promoting/eliminating Title IX. Develop a communication plan and corresponding collateral for membership regarding Title IX, Pay Equity and Gender Equity issues. Implements outreach activities to key constituent groups on the values of Title IX. Develop opportunities for partnership/program presentation with other organizations or Title IX and Gender Equity.

A thorough understanding of Title IX and Gender Equity issues and a passion for fairness and equity for all.
