MISSION:
The National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators, founded in 1979, is a 501(c)(3) membership organization dedicated to providing educational programs, professional and personal development opportunities, information exchange, and support services to enhance college athletics and to promote the growth, leadership, and success of women as athletics administrators, professional staff, coaches, and student-athletes.
VISION:
Women would fully experience and enjoy professional careers in athletics administration with no barriers to their employment and advancement. Sports for males and females would embrace positive human values such as cooperation and respect for others. Women would be well represented throughout the ranks of athletics administration with equal opportunity being assured and equal ability being assumed. Men and women in collegiate athletics would actively support the achievement of gender equity and ethnic diversity in collegiate sport.
PURPOSE:
To provide a forum for discussion, interaction, and information exchange among individuals confronted by similar challenges that affect and influence collegiate athletics. To develop and maintain communication channels among college and university personnel responsible for collegiate athletics. To provide opportunities for leadership and career development of women athletics administrators. To help strengthen collegiate athletics particularly as they relate to women student-athletes. To analyze, evaluate, draft, and advance national legislation through the appropriate channels, and to provide for the dissemination of that information to the membership.

Professional opportunities and development, membership services, resource development, and gender equity and ethnic diversity.
VALUES:
Diversity, including women of every race, age, ethnic group, and ability. Productive, expert, and passionate volunteers, members, donors, staff, and directors. Student-athletes and the life skills they derive from competitive sports. Strategic alliances with other organizations that share NACWAA’s goals. Efficient use of resources and nondiscrimination in any Association program or activity on the basis of race, age, religion, color, national origin, gender, physically challenging condition, or sexual orientation.
