NACWAA 2002 Strategic Plan
 


GOAL I: Professional Opportunities/Development

To provide quality educational and professional development programs for NACWAA members and prospective members

• Secure the faculty for The Institute for Athletics Executives
• Secure the inaugural class for The Institute for Athletics Executives
• Assist the curriculum coordinators for the NACWAA/HERS East and West    Institutes in securing the faculty for each site with diversity and divisional representation focus
• Continue to recruit minority women to attend the NACWAA/HERS Institutes and The Institute for Athletics Executives

GOAL II: Membership Services

To expand the organization and provide quality services and outreach opportunities

• Maintain a focus with the membership committee and the national office staff to recruit members from the underrepresented groups
• Determine feasibility of topic specific regional seminars  
• Provide updated news to the membership on a continuous basis 
• Match mentors with members seeking assistance upon request
• Investigate the possibility of developing divisional list serves


GOAL III: Resource Development

To cultivate and develop consistent, diversified resources to ensure continued association effectiveness
 
• Develop with Director of Development an annual fundraising campaign
• Secure an additional $25,000 for the Foundation Fund
• Secure at least one new sponsor to support NACWAA programs or events
• Pursue sponsorship for a new NACWAA sponsored sporting event
• Increase the revenue from the website job postings by 10%


GOAL IV: Gender Equity & Ethnic Diversity

To promote gender equity and ethnic diversity in intercollegiate athletics
 

• Continue to recruit women of color to attend the NACWAA/HERS Institutes for Administrative Advancement
• Develop a criteria for selection of women in athletic administration to attend The Institute for Athletics Executives
• Pursue current Directors of Athletics to serve as mentors and faculty for The Institute for Athletics Executives
• Pursue funding from NCAA Division II for professional development scholarships for SWA and administrative candidates to attend NACWAA/HERS


GOAL V: Association Enhancement/Initiatives

To enhance the associations effectiveness and development
 
• Hire additional staff - Interns and Director of Development
• Expand work space at the National Office with property purchase as a main focus
• Improve website with the use of .pdf files, set up message board, enhance the appearance and easy usage
