Title IX Resources

A number of organizations have great resources that provide detailed information about Title IX.

WOMEN’S SPORTS FOUNDATION: Access the Women’s Sports Foundation’s Title IX page, which includes Play Fair: A Title IX Playbook for Victory and numerous other informational pieces on the Title IX resource page.

NCAA: The Gender Equity division of the NCAA has a variety of resources available for athletics administrators and coaches. The NCAA Title IX Resource Center is also a good place for information and teaching tools.

NATIONAL WOMEN’S LAW CENTER (NWLC): The NWLC focuses on many areas pertaining to equity for women. One of their focus areas is Education & Title IX. Within that focus, they do work specifically in women’s athletics. Rally for Girls’ Sports Campaign is a recent initiative aimed at increasing opportunities for girls in sports and enhancing compliance with Title IX.

Neena Chaudhry of the NWLC presents the basics about the law, such as how schools can comply and tips for recognizing violations in sports programs in this Rally for Girls’ Sports: Title IX webinar.

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION FOR UNIVERSITY WOMEN (AAUW): The AAUW has a number of great initiatives to connect with women in higher education.

TUCKER CENTER FOR RESEARCH ON GIRLS AND WOMEN IN SPORT: The Tucker Center is an interdisciplinary research center housed at the University of Minnesota focusing on all aspects of sport and athletics in the lives of girls and women.
