NACWAA Judith M. Sweet Commitment Award
 

Background

If you are a senior ranking athletics administrator, please consider someone who is an administrator below the senior ranking level and works many times behind the scenes in your intercollegiate athletics department, conference office and/or organization and who provides outstanding service and dedication above and beyond the call of duty every day in making a difference. The purpose is to recognize athletics administrators who are committed to providing high level leadership, guidance and aspirations within intercollegiate athletics. As NACWAA continues to grow and flourish, this acknowledgement provides and opportunity to extend our appreciation and gratitude for these efforts. This award, recognizing outstanding service and dedication, is presented to an athletics administrator in NCAA Division I-A, I-AA, I-AAA; II; III; NAIA/Junior/Community Colleges and Conference/Organizations. This award, recognizing outstanding service and dedication, is presented to an athletics administrator in NCAA Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A), Championship Subdivision (formerly DI-AA), Division I (formerly DI-AAA); DII; DIII; NAIA/NJCAA/CC and Conferences/Organizations. Up to seven honorees will be selected and presented with their awards on their campuses, in their conference offices, at their organizations or at select conference/organization events of choice.


Eligibility and Criteria

Individuals nominated for this award must meet the following criteria:
1. Be a full-time employee with athletics administrative duties/responsibilities below the senior ranking level at an institution, conference or national governance organization.
2. Demonstrate a commitment in providing the best student-athlete experiences.
3. Demonstrate support of diversity and gender equity
4. Demonstrate a commitment to professional development.
5. Serve as a positive role model and mentor.
6. 6. Demonstrate a high-level commitment to the mission of the institution, conference office or organization and to intercollegiate athletics.
7. NACWAA membership of the nominee is not a requirement.


Nominations

A recommendation is required which includes a brief typed one-page statement (no more than 500 words) as to why this athletics administrator deserves to be the recipient of the Commitment Award. Nominees must meet the award criteria for consideration.


Nominators may nominate one person per category for a total of seven (7) nominees. Nominations must be received in the NACWAA office by January 16, 2008. Forms may be mailed, faxed or e-mailed to:
