NACWAA Nell Jackson Award
 

Background

The Nell Jackson award presented to NACWAA members is bestowed annually to an athletics administrator who exemplifies the personal qualities and professional accomplishments of Dr. Nell Jackson. This award is given to an individual who demonstrates qualities such as courage, conviction, perseverance and who is an advocate for gender equity and diversity. This award honors athletics administrators who are NACWAA/HERS graduates and demonstrate vision and outstanding leadership.


Eligibility and Criteria

All athletics administrators who meet the following criteria and are nominated by a NACWAA member are eligible.

The nominee must:
1. Be an active member of NACWAA
2. Be employed as a full-time athletics administrator at the institution, national governing organization or conference listed at the time of nomination
3. Be a NACWAA/HERS graduate.
4. Demonstrate the following qualities: leadership, courage, compassion, conviction, tenacity, and vision
5. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity and gender equity
6. Serve as a positive role model
7. Demonstrate a commitment to the pursuit of excellence
7. Attend the NACWAA Fall Forum to be eligible to receive the Nell Jackson Award

Nominees must be nominated by an active member of NACWAA.  Nominations must be submitted to the NACWAA office.  Nomination forms may be mailed, faxed or e-mailed to:
