With the help of esteemed auctioneer and 2011 NACWAA Lifetime Achievement honoree Chris Voelz, generous NACWAA supporters raised an unbelievable $55,043 at the 2011 Awesome Auction! Fabulous vacation homes, exclusive athletics experiences, memorabilia, jewelry and more went to lively bidders while fellow attendees and special guests provided entertainment and fun. All proceeds benefited the NACWAA Foundation Fund, which supports and enhances educational programs, including NCAA/NACWAA Institutes for Administrative Advancement and other professional development opportunities, for women in intercollegiate athletics administration. Special thanks to the 2011 NACWAA Foundation Fund Committee and volunteers who made the event a huge success.
A note from Chris Voelz:
GREETINGS AWESOME AUCTION PARTICIPANTS,
YOU were TERRIFIC... GRACIOUS... GENEROUS... ENTERTAINING... and downright fun to work with!
I have had the opportunity to assist with the auction as your auctioneer (use that term loosely please) for quite a few years and never has the NACWAA famiily come together in such a successful way. The staff was prepared, more than ever. The board members were all-in. The members came with a true sense of giving and set records in doing so! And even those who were not present helped us start the evening with more than $4,000 in "Absentee Assessments!!!" And the entertainment was terrific!
Congratulations for exuding the true spirit of helping one another--it is always my pleasure to help you dig deep and you certainly did, recording our second-highest total ever at $55,043.
Start saving... for we are going to have great opportunities to give and have fun in Kansas City! Thank you again.
My best,
Chris Voelz
