EVENT RECAPS

Regional Executive Leadership Seminar, April 30 - May 1, 2011
The NACWAA Regional Executive Leadership Seminar, held in conjunction with the NCAA Gender Equity Forum, received rave reviews from both participants and faculty. The success of this inaugural event paves a promising way forfuture NACWAA Regional Programming. A best-in-class combination of faculty allowed attendees to gain an array of perspectives on women and leadership, as well as practical advice to implement in their everyday lives.

Peg Brand kicked off the program with a philosophical view on women and leadership with Moving Beyond Well-Being to Leadership: Learning from the White House Report, “Women in America: Indicators of Social and Economic Well-Being.”  Anucha Browne Sanders offered a perspective on leadership from her experiences in the corporate world in her session entitled Gender Leadership. Donna Lopiano wrapped up the first day of programming with Personal Leadership Plus a Philosophy of Excellence, which outlined the skills and qualities every great leader must acquire. To close the program, Janet Judge presented Emotional Intelligence, discussing ways to utilize emotional intelligence to find your strengths and manage people.
