NCAA/NACWAA Executive Institute

The NCAA/NACWAA Executive Institute is an advanced professional development program for women in collegiate athletics administration. In 2002, the NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics (CWA) and NACWAA collaborated to create a program to prepare women for positions as directors of athletics or conference commissioners at the Division I level. A focus on Division I was initially targeted because it contained the smallest percentage of female directors of athletics of all NCAA divisions. Since the program’s inception, it has been open to senior ranking women and directors of athletics in NCAA Divisions I, II and III.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The curriculum focuses on leadership and communication strategies, contract negotiations, legal issues, fundraising, hiring processes and other critical issues surrounding athletics administration.

Twelve women attended the 2011 Executive Institute held July 18-22 in Kansas City: Sherri Booker, Amanda Braun, Shonna Brown, Vicky Chun, Lisa Campos, Portia Lowe Hoeg, Lynn Holzman, Colleen Lim, Monica Love, Erin McDermott, Anucha Browne Sanders and Alice Tym.
