News: Girls Are Doing Better (Not Boys Are Doing Worse)

Beware! Some pundits would have us believe women are taking over the world and trampling men in the process. Sounds ludicrous, right? These individuals have staged misguided attacks on Title IX as well as credible research addressing equity for women and girls in education. One can only wonder why women's success makes them so uneasy.
As women continue to make gains in education and the workplace, these successes don't come at the expense of men. That's the insidious implication underlying much of the recent assaults on Title IX that are in turn fueling erroneous notions of a ''boy crisis.'' The American Association of University Women is proud of women's achievements and believes policies and reforms that allow women and men to excel are beneficial for society as a whole.
