Member Profile: Shirelle Jackson
Jackson goes to FIU after spending the last two years at her alma mater, Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. While at Bowling Green, she served as the assistant director of student-athlete services. Prior to her stint at Bowling Green, she served as assistant athletic director for student development at Eastern Connecticut State University from 2002-2004. While there, she created and oversaw the student-athlete development program for all 325 student-athletes. Prior to being named assistant athletic director at ECSU, Jackson was the athletic academic counselor from 2000-02 at the school. Jackson was the Central Connecticut State University admission representative in 1999 and served as learning assistant coordinator at CCSU in 1998. She also was an intern in 1997-98 in the University of Hartford athletic department.
The Cincinnati, Ohio, native is a 1994 graduate of BGSU, earning a degree in fashion merchandising. Jackson was a member of the Falcon track and field program where she was named Outstanding Female Track Athlete in 1991. She received her Master of Science degree from CCSU in 1998.
Shirelle is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administration (NACWAA) and National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics. She resides in Coral Gables with her husband, Jason and their two boys, Justin and Jordan.
