Mentor Program

You are here

In alignment with NACWAA’s vision, mission and values, and ongoing commitment to develop, empower and advance our members, the Mentor Program matches accomplished veteran administrators with talented up-and-comers committed to advancing and excelling in college athletics.

The NACWAA Mentor Program equips mentors and mentees with tools to facilitate personal and professional development and help nurture a mutually-beneficial relationship. The four-part program offers a loosely-defined yet strategic structure for purposeful interactions between mentees and mentors, but also allows for relationships to grow organically. Mentees will be empowered to identify a program goal and create a concrete action plan for achievement upon completion of the program. Mentors will have the opportunity to flex their coaching and leadership skills, while gaining the satisfaction and fulfillment of making a difference for women in our profession.

Utilizing the power of mentorship will give you the opportunity to:

  • increase your career satisfaction;
  • renew your commitment to your current institution;
  • tangibly prepare you for a new role; and
  • advance your forward-thinking ability.

Please note that all accepted mentors and mentees must attend the Mentor Program Reception at the 2016 NACWAA National Rally. Participants should also be prepared to meaningfully communicate with their mentor/mentee on a regular basis. Applications for the 2016-17 program have closed. Applicants will receive communication regarding program participation the week of September 19.
